You see your instructors all the time inside Energy. Everyone is always dressed in yoga pants, hair in a ponytail or with a hat on. But what do they look like when they are not teaching? What do these gals do? How do they spend their time? I asked some of the instructors to let me have a sneak peek into their home lives, with permission to share pictures with you. Come get to know these gals more. We have such beautiful people inside and out working at Energy. Get to know Jennifer Hall, and Alice Halvorson. Stay tuned next week for more instructor stories. JENNIFER HALL: HEAD INSTRUCTOR, PILATES EXTRAORDINAIRE, AND PERSONAL TRAINER Jennifer is a proud mama of two, Gavin and Stella. She is one half of the J and J twins that you see at Energy. Jennifer's twin sister, Jonelle is a beautiful compliment to her. Don't these pictures just make you want to be Jennifer's friend? Look how happy she is. ALICE HALVORSON: OUR SCULPT POWERHOUSE Alice is also a proud mama of two to Connor and Ava. You may have seen Ava running around at Energy in one of her many princess dresses. Alice loves to promote fitness and healthy living. She is in training for the Twin Cities Marathon this Fall, so look for her out running the Woodbury paths. Alice's energy is contagious and her smile is infectious. Author: Joanna Etshokin

We are so excited to introduce something to you: Running on E-- Energy Pilates and Fitness’ very own running club IS HERE. We hope you will join us MAY 31 as we build a unique running community in the only way that we know how—the Energy way. For those of you who might not be familiar with the Energy environment, it can be best described as innovative, encouraging, invigorating and full of laughter and heart. Our running club will pull from the Energy atmosphere and take it outside onto the streets of our community. Running can seem intimidating for those who have never done it before, and for those who shy away from it. Remember, we will all be there to motivate and push each other along the way. When you start anything new, it’s always important to breathe and find enjoyment in what you are doing. As you begin any new habit or way of life, it’s important to start slowly. Running does not always mean racing or being fast. It means finding, respecting and understanding the level you are at, knowing that everyone has will experience growth. Our goal is to help you embrace running as a life long relationship. As with any relationship you don’t dive in headfirst all at once. Pushing too hard causes injury, and increases the odds that you won’t try running again. Along the way you will learn and acquire techniques on how to turn running into a meditative, mind clearing time, and erase the notions that running is boring, repetitive and mundane. Just like anything in life, things are what YOU make them. There are a lot of great programs that we will create for YOU. They will all be different because everyone has to start somewhere, and that place is different for each of us. We will goal set, and build a program that meets your needs—yes it will challenge you in a healthy way. If you are an experienced runner, we want you! We want your knowledge, we want your expertise, and we want your experience. We want to take your running to the next level in the Energy way. We will offer a variety of sessions on basic running form, nutrition, speed intervals, steady tempo runs and MAKING RUNNING A FUN AND ENJOYABLE ASPECT OF YOUR WEEK. Remember, intimidating you as runners is not the Energy way. You know your body, and it’s always okay to take a break and jump back in. We will provide the opportunity to push your body in the way that’s healthiest for you. We only grow when we take risks right? We look forward to meeting you and helping you on your running journey. Remember: every accomplishment starts with the decision to try. Your running coach, Joanna |
