Debra
Debra started fitness instruction "back in the day", oh, about 25 years ago, leading the way in the '80s with aerobic classes. In between her thong-leotard days until now, many experiences led her to create an amazing and energizing fitness program at Energy Pilates & Fitness.
Adding to her fitness curriculum included accepting the position of Group Fitness Coordinator and subsequently Assistant Group Fitness Director for the chain of Life Time Fitness clubs. Although grateful for her kick start at a big club, her passion has been to branch out to create a well-rounded fitness program and atmosphere of energy, fun and specific instruction (think personal training meets group fitness) for both men and women.
Debra opened the doors to the Woodbury Energy Pilates & Fitness in March 2008. With a fast-growing membership, she was voted "BEST OF" by Woodbury Magazine, 2009. The following year, Energy Pilates & Fitness was again voted "BEST PLACE TO WORK OUT" and "BEST FITNESS CLASS - PUSH."

Nancy

Name a dance or movement style and Nancy has probably studied and/or taught it over the last 29 years. Her dance training has taken her from Alvin Ailey American Dance Center and Phil Black's Dance School in New York City to the University of Minnesota, Zoe Sealy Dance Center and Classical Ballet Academy in the Twin Cities to Jane Fonda's Workout Studio in LA. As Artistic Director of Downtown Dance, she encouraged people to have fun, learn, move, get in shape, and feel good about themselves. She is thrilled to have found Debra and Energy Pilates & Fitness. Energy Pilates & Fitness' commitment to provide disciplined, professional instruction in a fun, friendly and supportive environment is a breath of fresh air.
Nancy is a professional watercolor artist and develops and leads mission trips to Slovakia for the Lutheran Church.

Wayne

Wayne began his practice of yoga in the mid-'70s as a teenager. After studying yoga for 20 years, he became a yoga teacher.
He has developed a blended style of yoga all his own, incorporating the teachings of masters from around the world. Wayne has lived in the US, Europe, and Asia, but found his way back home to the Midwest and his roots in the diary state next door! If you find yourself too stressed out to relax, you notice your mind is racing, but you don't seem to get anywhere, or your hamstrings are so tight they feel like tuning forks, we have a spot waiting for you in the front row!
Wayne favorite cookie is Tollhouse - adding dried cherries!

Barbara has been active in health and fitness and passionate about group fitness consistently for over 20+ years. As a long-time fan of Debra's fitness philosophy and cutting-edge Pilates and barefoot cardio training classes, she was inspired to pursue her group fitness teaching career. Barbara brings professionalism and a passion for empowering women and men in fitness as evidenced in the way she teaches and motivates her students in her classes.
Barbara is an attorney and lives in Woodbury with her husband and two boys. "Testosterone rules, thus laughter is THE secret to life."

Jennifer

Jennifer became a member of Energy Pilates and Fitness while working in corporate sales. A decision that changed her life, both physically and mentally. She was so inspired; she made the decision to pursue a career in health and fitness. She obtained her certifications and is a personal trainer, certified instructor and certified Pilates Reformer trainer at Energy Pilates and Fitness. Jennifer is passionate about sharing the AMAZING benefits of physical fitness and truly believes in the power it can bring to the lives she touches!
Yes, you'll look twice sometimes in class, as Jennifer has a twin sister who takes classes all the time.

Caroline

Caroline's lifelong passion for fitness started with dance, including participating in competitive dance teams from high school through college. After beginning her career and feeling unsatisfied with big box gyms, Caroline joined Energy Pilates & Fitness in spring of 2008. She quickly became committed to Pilates and Barefoot Cardio Training - which allow her to combine her love of movement and physical challenge in a friendly, supportive and personable environment.
She is excited to share the truly amazing benefits and life changes that Energy has brought to her!
Caroline has a degree in Interior Design and still enjoys designing by consulting in her spare time.

Christa became a member of Energy Pilates & Fitness shortly after the birth of her second child. What began as an opportunity to get back into shape, turned into a life changing experience! The classes, the people, the philosophy and the energy have made working out something so much more. Christa has been passionate about exercise her entire life - a former soccer player and runner, she is thrilled to have the opportunity to share her new love of pilates and barefoot cardio. She hopes you leave her classes feeling better both physically and mentally.
Outside of the studio Christa enjoys her two kids, traveling, chocolate and on-line shopping; not necessarily in that order!

Michelle

Michelle started Pilates and yoga over 8 years ago after having her second child, and then decided to become an instructor. training includes Pilates mat work, reformer, chair, Cadillac, jump board injury and special populations. She continues her education to keep up with the latest information. When Michelle is working with clients she encourages them to stay attune to their bodies to notice their strength and weakness and to work toward their personal goals. She enjoys teaching people how to improve their posture, mobility, flexibility and strength. She also strives to teach people to incorporate Pilates and yoga into their everyday lives, and to empower her clients to take control of their physical selves.
Michelle is crazy active with her kids - cross country skiing, swimming, hiking. Michelle is now embarking on a nutrition career as well.

Elaine

Health and fitness have been a consistent part of Elaine's life for as long as she can remember. She grew up taking dance classes, playing sports every season of the year and lifting weights with the boys in the high school weight room! As an adult, her love of fitness evolved into cardio exercise, fitness classes, strength training and yoga. Elaine has been teaching fitness classes since 2004 and her repertoire of varied formats is near complete with the addition of yoga!
She believes in lifelong health and wellness practices and is passionate about sharing her love of fitness and health with others.
When she is not teaching in the studio, Elaine can be found teaching Math to high school students!

Lisa

Lisa has been teaching group fitness for over 20 years. Her passion for motivating people started at the University of Minnesota where she started teaching "step" at both campuses. Lisa has taught many formats such as "step", aqua fitness, strength and cardio classes, kickboxing & spinning. Being a busy mom of three and working full-time as a project manager in the advertising field, she understands how difficult it can be to incorporate a regular fitness routine as part of your day. Her consistent message to members: "everything counts, something is better than nothing", if you don't have 2 hrs to work out, then make just 30 minutes count! She is thrilled to become part of Energy Pilates and Fitness and grateful for the opportunity.
Lisa's guiltiest pleasure is having a "treat" at night, alone, when her kids are in bed, that way no one can ask her for a bite of anything.

Krista

As a girl who could rarely ever sit still, Krista is active by nature. She has been involved in several sports including softball, dance and even bowling since she was a young child. Her involvement in these activities continued until she graduated from college, and team sports were no longer prevalent. She soon joined a gym and became addicted to group fitness. She naturally stepped into the teaching role and became a group fitness instructor for a high-intensity, sports-inspired cardio class.
She was encouraged by her aunt to join Energy Pilates & Fitness and fell in love immediately with the formats. She could not get enough of the energy, the people and the way this studio made her feel! She is now a Barefoot Cardio Training Fitness instructor and loving every minute of it!
Krista lives in Woodbury and works full time as a project manager at Thomson Reuters. When she is not working or workin' on her fitness, she truly enjoys spending time with her family and baking. She and her sister (who is also a faithful Energy Pilates & Fitness member) own a small baking business called Holy Hannah's. Energy Pilates & Fitness is a great balance to all of the desserts they enjoy!

Melissa

After her third daughter, Melissa left her career to start a new path that revolved around something she loves; being active and adventurous. She began her journey with rock climbing/mountaineering and soon found yoga. She discovered the strengthening benefits of yoga apply to the whole self, not just the physical. Since then, yoga has become an amazing addition to her life; always changing and always challenging. Melissa is now a registered 200-hour Yoga Alliance Instructor, teaches an early childhood class and can be found hiking the stairs of Stillwater training for her next mountain.
Melissa is originally from Connecticut; grew up in Cincinnati, OH and now calls MN home!

Jenny

Jenny is a life-long athlete with a passion for yoga, running, circuit training, kickboxing, and hiking! Jenny's sister first introduced her to yoga over 13 years ago. What started as an impromptu living room yoga session bloomed into a life's journey after Jenny completed graduate school in 2009. As a competitive runner, swimmer, and hockey player, yoga spoke to Jenny's love for movement.
With a professional background in Human Rights, yoga also inspired Jenny through its ability to help individuals and communities realize wellbeing. Jenny teaches private lessons & classes ranging from yoga for endurance athletes to community yoga classes to empower young girls.
Jenny's mission is to inspire and empower students through joyful movement that honors the inherent wisdom, strength, and health of their bodies, minds, and souls. Often combining circuit training, Pilates, and kickboxing with yoga, students can expect her classes to be adventurous, creative, challenging, and fun!
When not teaching, Jenny can be found laughing with family and friends, dancing to music and writing online articles about yoga, meditation, and female empowerment.

Taylor

Taylor became a group fitness instructor in 2001 while she was attending the University of Minnesota Duluth. She wanted to find a way to get more involved. While talking with her academic counselor, who asked her about things she enjoyed, she discovered her passion around fitness. Taylor enjoys major formats - including Sculpt, Step, and Spinning. Over the years she has experience teaching Body Pump, Body Attack, Core Conditioning (aka Butts and Gutts!), Strength and Toning, along with Debra's PUSH class!! Outside of teaching she loves being outdoors.
When not teaching, Taylor is still moving - hunting, fishing, skydiving and four wheeling with her husband and sometimes her labra doodle, Roxy!

Mary

Mary has always been involved in some sort of physical activity, starting with softball and volleyball, and moving into running, aerobics classes, and weight training. After joining EPF four years ago she became addicted to the Energy classes and found that the variety of formats from cardio to Pilates to weights to yoga, produced the greatest results. She had a history of lower back problems, but since joining EPF and adding Pilates to her workout routine to strengthen her core, those problems have completely gone away.
Fitness and sports are a big deal to her family and she and her husband have worked to instill a love of physical activity in her two children.
Si Senior. Mary and her family love to travel to Spanish-speaking countries as her children are loving and learning all things Spanish.

Jen

As a busy mom of five and a registered nurse, Jen has always used exercise to help "keep her sanity", however, a year after her last child Jen was frustrated that the baby weight was not coming off. A coworker introduced Jen to EPF. "I remember how intimidated I was at first, the classes were really challenging and I thought wow, these instructors really know how to make you work. Now I can honestly say I feel like I'm truly in the best shape of my life and my energy level is through the roof. I feel like I finally found the key to living a happy and healthy life. I now have a new found passion for group fitness and have also made many new friends who have much in common with me."
In her spare time Jen loves spending time with her family and date nights with her hubby. A special treat would be a glass of wine and a juicy gossip magazine

Olivia

Little did Olivia know that dancing in her room at the age of three was only the beginning to an exciting path of pursuing her passion. Being the youngest of five siblings she was surrounded by continuing love and support of her dream. Not knowing any differently, Olivia was always told to find what makes her the happiest and share that gift with the world. And that is exactly what she did.
Her journey only grew larger as she went from small town Mahtomedi, Minnesota to Manhattan, New York to dance. Knowing that home is where the heart is, she decided to continue her dance, acting and modeling career here in Minnesota where her loving family awaited to see where her next step would land. Fortunately Olivia's next big step landed right here at Energy Pilates & Fitness where she is thrilled to bring her spunky personality to the team! She is ready to energize lives and share her passion of dance and fitness with you!
Olivia can be seen running a bobcat at the family cabin; I'm sure while modeling, acting, and dancing!

Alice

Alice has had a passion for fitness all her life - dancing from the ages of 3-17 and participating in swimming/diving, gymnastics and track in high school. As an adult, she found her love for group fitness 11 years ago and hasn't stopped since! She loves the motivation, positive energy and camaraderie in group fitness. Alice loves to inspire people and has been teaching group fitness in various formats including strength, high-intensity cardio, step, and cycle for nearly 3 years. She also enjoys running and completed her first marathon last year! As a mother of two young children, Alice knows how important it is to make time for "YOU" and treat your body with respect and kindness. She is constantly amazed at the benefits of exercise for both the body and the mind. She is so excited to join the team!
Alice believes laughter is the best medicine (aside from exercise of course!), in getting her "fix" from watching clips of SNL and that peanut butter and chocolate should be their own food groups.

Jess

Jessica started her career in fitness as a water aerobics instructor when she was a freshman in college. From there, her passion for teaching grew as she strived to learn more and find her own path in the fitness world. She has cherry picked the best of the best of all the fitness philosophies and blended them into her own philosophy. As the fitness world is always evolving due to newer and newer research and development, the one thing that remains constant is this: everything we do in the studio is important, but all that hard work can be undone in about two bites. Nutrition is just as important, if not more so, than exercise; so if your great-grandmother wouldn't recognize something as food, then don't put it in your body. Just eat real food.
Jessica is an animal-lover and volunteers at the animal shelter by taking homeless dogs for walks. She is also fluent in Spanish, a novice paddle boarder, and loves to spend lazy Sunday afternoons curled up watching X Files re-runs with her cat, Kitty.

Stephanie

Stephanie's passion for fitness started with dance at the age of three and continued with participating in gymnastics, soccer and softball as well growing up. She became a member of Energy Pilates & Fitness shortly after giving up teaching dance due to her busy schedule with getting her college degree. She was hesitant to join at first, but gave it a chance hoping it wasn't like the big box gyms. After her first class she was hooked; she loved the energy that the instructors, the formats, and the other members brought to working out.
Stephanie graduated from the University of St. Catherine in December 2012 with her Masters degree in Occupational Therapy and is currently studying for her boards. She is passionate about helping individuals across the lifespan engage in meaningful activities to promote health, wellness, and improve their quality of life.
Stephanie is Energy's Studio Manager and is also enrolled in the Energy Pilates & Fitness Instructor Training Program.
In her spare time, Stephanie loves being outdoors: hunting, fishing, four wheeling, and boating with her finance and friends and playing with her nieces and nephews.
Kristy

Two years ago Kristy overheard a friend say she works out at Energy Pilates and Fitness. It happened to be a time in her life where she was bored at her current gym. Kristy was looking for something new to motivate and get her excited about working out. At that same time she accepted a childcare position with Energy and began taking her first BARRE class. Kristy totally fell in love! She loved the energy and excitement that group fitness classes offered. Kristy loves the commitment to proper form (since she is a form freak) and loves that you take any class to your own fitness level without judgment. As Kristy tried more and more classes she saw her body change in ways she hadn't seen from other large gyms. Kristy was hooked, line and sinker and has never enjoyed fitness so much!
When not performing her role as the Manager of the Pilates Reformer Department or taking classes, Kristy enjoys spending time with her two young girls Emily (8) and Isabelle (5). Kristy loves to volunteer in her community and does so as a Girl Scout Troop leader and by organizing a support group for mothers of children with special and medical needs. Kristy's passion is empowering others. Kristy also enjoys teaching parents how to advocate for their children who struggle with different needs and abilities.
Kara, Child Care Manager

A friend introduced me to EPF with a 2-week pass about a year ago and I have been hooked ever since!! I was sure I would love the classes, as I have always lived an active lifestyle. However, I had a recent neck injury which made me hesitant to join a club and not be able to participate without causing further injury. She assured me they could modify anything and I would become stronger and that is exactly what happened! I can truly say I have seen transformation in my body and overall well-being and have had no further injury.
When not taking classes I am a busy stay at home mom of two. I enjoy volunteering at school, rollerblading and walking the beautiful trails of Stillwater and spending time at the cabin!

Julie, Medical Director

Julie has always loved fitness beginning with exercising to Jazzercise tapes in her parents' basement! Julie also taught aerobics in the late 80s and early 90s as a way to make extra money in high school and college. But when Julie embarked on Pilates with Debra Tourek; she immediately feel in love with her style of pilates and have been an advocate for her ever since. Julie loves all the classes but its yoga and pilates which has re-energized her!
Julie is a board certified Family Medicine physician who currently practices in an Urgent Care setting. Julie is deeply passionate about helping and educating women about nutrition and exercise and loves being part of the Energy Pilates & Fitness, LLC Training Board of Directors
Julie has four children and is also a make-up artist!
